False alarm.
You know what's embarrassing? Finishing up the decorating for your Stake YSA Halloween party around 10:30pm and accidentally setting off the fire alarm. And then you're frantically fanning the smoke detectors while someone else calls the bishop to ask what we should do and others suggest just running away. And when you finally get the alarm to stop for good, you freeze on your way to the elevator to go home--are those sirens? And you get down to the lobby and there are half a dozen firefighters coming through the front doors, and not only are there two fire trucks parked right outside, but there are two more blocking the intersection at 3rd avenue, and people are milling about across the street to watch the spectacle. And all you really have to say for yourself is, "Sorry, officer, it was an accident. Things just got a little out of hand with the fog machine."

AH HAHAHA That's so awesome. I wish I was there to observe.
ReplyDeleteThis event reminds me of that Friends episode where Ross buys the leather pants and everything spirals out of control with the baby powder and the lotion, and all he can do is just walk out in his underwear to face his date's shock and horror. Great post, Filth.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that is awesome. I mean, not really at the time, but now it's hilarious :)
ReplyDeleteoh wow. i love this!!!!
ReplyDeleteand i love that you're sharing!
:)
How exciting! You're leading such an action-packed life!
ReplyDeleteOh, a FOG machine. I thought you were using the smoke detector as a cooking timer again.
ReplyDeleteDad
Oops! Last night I was thinking of you when I was reading an article in the BYU magazine about "Harleman Halls" in New York. Do you live there? Do you know people who do? It sounds like the place to be if you're LDS and live in NYC.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! We had a fog machine at work this Halloween and were afraid of the same thing happening. Good thing it was a cheap one that didn't really fog!
ReplyDeleteSo, I just noticed on your playlist you have a flight of the conchords song. jordan has been playing youtube videos of them nonstop for the last 48 hours. i want to kill him/them. one of their stupid songs is in my head...perhaps you've heard of it: "what you're into". i must admit it is humorous, but slightly less so because jordan found it first and now it has worn out its humor welcome.
ReplyDeletethis only makes me love you more.
ReplyDeleteps. if i were there, i would have LOVED to flirt with the firemen... please tell me you took advantage of this opportunity, hunky men that come running to your rescue? oh, every girls dream! okay, my dream. i assume i am like most females...
