10 weeks of training
a 5:30 am wake-up call
3+ hours on the subway (round trip)
one wicked blister
3 cups of Gatorade
13.1 miles
one tired girl
This is what victory looks like.

Woohoo! I'm so impressed! That is something to be proud of, my friend. I'd love to hear more about it but I'm sure that's a post for another day. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWow, who'd a thunk it? My favorite young couch potato crankin' out the miles. Seriously, that's impressive, and I'm really happy for you. It must be very satisfying to have done this. Eat tonight with impunity.
ReplyDeleteDad
I'm so proud of you, Filth! I can't believe this is the same girl who, when I was trying to shed some serious London poundage, would try to convince me to not go to my Aerobics class every night by luring me onto the big bag. It's a good thing I was able to resist your advances (most of the time).
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, 13.1 miles is a lot--I've never done more than 9 straight and I don't think I really want to. Maybe someday. You are an inspiration to us all! Rob and I will eat ourselves silly tonight in your honor.
By the way, you are one bodacious babe!
Give yourself the red plate at dinner tomorrow night! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteI start training for my race in two weeks.

ReplyDeleteDid you do a specific training program or just make up your own? Congrats though, that's amazing!
